Charlotte Named One of Best U.S. Cities for Job Seekers: Here’s Why
Charlotte is a great town to call home ─ you already know that. However, the rest of the country is starting to catch on to our secret.
Finance site Nerd Wallet recently revealed results of a study of the 10 Best Cities for Job Seekers and it should come as no surprise that Charlotte ranked number five on the list. A number of factors were considered to determine the ranking, including the city’s unemployment rate, the cost of living, and the current growth rate of the area.
Charlotte ─ City Full of Opportunities for Job Seekers
Charlotte is considered the second largest banking center in the country. A number of big name financial companies have either chosen Charlotte as the site of their company headquarters or to maintain a large presence in the area. Some of these corporations include Bank of America, the Wells Fargo East Coast division, Ally Financial, BB&T, MetLife, Sun Trust, TIAA-CREF and LendingTree ─ just to name a few. These companies create thousands of jobs for financial professionals living in the area.
The largest city in the state of North Carolina isn’t all about finance. Charlotte is also home to a thriving arts community, 10 Fortune 500 companies, a number of esteemed universities, a variety of professional sports teams, and so much more. In fact, the region has such a vast base of energy-oriented organizations that it has been deemed “Charlotte USA ─ The New Energy Capital.”
Living in a city with such a wide variety of opportunities gives you room to take your career in any direction you please. Plus, it’s also a fun place to live!
