Job Summary:
The Benefits Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s employee benefits programs. This position requires a thorough understanding of employee benefits, government regulations, and industry trends. The Benefits Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering employee benefits programs that are competitive, cost-effective, and meet the needs of the company’s diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Analyze employee benefits data and evaluate the effectiveness of benefits programs, making recommendations for changes and improvements as necessary.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options and respond to employee inquiries about benefits programs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.
- Manage relationships with benefit vendors and third-party administrators to ensure the quality and cost-effectiveness of benefits programs.
- Monitor industry trends and developments in employee benefits and make recommendations for changes to the company’s benefits programs as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other HR professionals to ensure the integration of benefits programs with other HR initiatives, such as recruitment and retention.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a large multi-state organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employee benefits regulations and compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
