Electrical Technician- Direct Hire
SUMMARY:
The Electrical Technician I is responsible for the safe installation, set up, testing, troubleshooting and repair of electrical options on new and used CNC equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safely rig equipment, operate fork lifts and overhead crane systems.
- Work with single phase and three phase power and control systems from 100 to 480 Volts AC and 5-800 Volts DC.
- Correctly use a multimeter, amprobe, megger, oscilloscope, phase rotation detector to troubleshoot electrical components and wiring on CNC machines, automation systems and auxiliary equipment including CNC HMIs, power supplies, servo drives, variable frequency drives, servo motors, three phase synchronous/asynchronous motors, safety systems, hydraulic and pneumatics system components, etc.
- Use mechanical assembly prints, electrical and other system schematics, to perform installation, setup, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, components and wiring.
- Label components, cables, conductors and hoses as specified in the schematics during the installation process.
- Load software, parameter and system files and manually set up a CNC control using a laptop, FROM card or USB
- Use basic computer skills to back up a CNC, then navigate through our network to upload or download files.
- Update and correct drawings as well as provide feedback and solutions when issues are found during electrical installations or rebuilds.
- Analyze the bill of materials and install electrical components properly to the project.
- Perform tasks and checks as outlined in the company's Quality Control Manual and sign off documentation as completed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Perform all work in compliance with OSHA General Industry Safety Guidelines, as well as the company's Hazardous Energy Management and Arc Flash policies.
- Work overtime and weekends when required.
- Travel is required for the purposes of training and customer service. Domestic travel is estimated to be 20% and international travel is estimated to be 5%.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated, customer orientated, team player.
- Ability to provide good written and verbal communication to all parties involved throughout the duration of the project.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work assignments and demonstrate good time management skills.
- Interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and other system schematics.
- Experience laying out machinery electrical cabinets, adding components, wiring and labels per schematics.
- Basic understanding of and hands-on experience with electrical system troubleshooting techniques and test equipment on CNC machines and auxiliary equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within OSHA General Industry Safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
- Has the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma Required.
- Apprenticeship, Trade school, journeyman or military certification in electronics preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical experience in a highly diverse environment.
- Experience in the machine tool industry or other metal-cutting industry is preferred.
- Experience with basic CNC controls, Fanuc and/or Siemens preferred.
