                                       Safety Engineer- Direct Hire 

TalentBridge is partnered with a multi-asset, world-class, integrated lithium business focused on enabling the transition to a net zero world and the creation of a clean energy economy in North America. They are looking for a safety engineer who has experience in front end engineering design support combined with either operational experience or detailed hazard identification and controls knowledge. This role will primarily support the design work underway with our upcoming project. As design transitions to execute, this individual will have an opportunity to transition into the construction activities or fill other positions with the Safety, Environment, and Health organization.

Candidates must be well versed in:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA): General Industry
  • American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Common Safety Design Standards
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Safety Engineer Job Responsibilities:
  • Advise on safety requirements, designing protective equipment and/or safety devices, redesigning controls to eliminate occupational hazards, developing standards which set tolerances, strength of materials and other related engineering requirements, reviewing proposed occupational safety policies, guidelines, and standards to determine their consistency with accepted engineering principles and practices, and recommending technical changes as needed
  • Participate in HAZOP and other safety reviews during the design of plants and equipment, and development of processes
  • Interpret safety requirements and regulations, as they apply to our operations and construction activities, and support the development of necessary policies and procedures to ensure that these operations are in compliance
  • Review governmental regulations and industry codes of practice for applicability processes, facilities, and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and all other national, state and local requirements and regulations
  • Works with operations to ensure workplace conditions comply with all applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standards
  • Participate in incident investigations to support the development of corrective actions
  • Develop safety design standards for our operation
  • Assist with new equipment and tool reviews
