Responsibilities of the Principal DevOps Engineer:

  • Take on the responsibility of building, configuring, and overseeing the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) technologies using Agile delivery principles.
  • Adhere to and contribute to the Bank's security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Configure tools to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual intervention time for tasks.
  • Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Assess application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, devise solutions, and collaborate with the Development team to implement them.
  • Proactively ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability.
  • Implement security protocols for the deployment pipeline and infrastructure, including automated code scanning practices.
  • Incorporate shift-left concepts into coding and testing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to establish an automated CI/CD framework.

Qualifications of a Principal Dev Ops Engineer:

  • Possess 6+ years of experience utilizing Agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying and monitoring web applications, desktop applications, and interfaces in an on-premise server environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of CI/CD technologies, preferably GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Demonstrated experience in secure development, coding, and engineering practices.
  • Development skills in Java, SQL, YAML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in fully automating end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, from design to production.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux-based environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure testing strategies.
  • Knowledgeable in systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, and logging.
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related program, or possess equivalent experience.
