Responsibilities of the Claims Specialist:
- Proactively identifies and reports claims for clients, building trust with both insureds and claimants through direct communication.
- Collaborates with clients to ensure claim forms are accurately and comprehensively filled out, providing a seamless claims experience.
- Follows up on claim acknowledgements and adjuster assignments for large claims as appropriate, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues.
- Monitors claims activities and results, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action where necessary.
- Provides frequent and transparent status reports to clients, demonstrating a commitment to clear communication and accountability.
- Acts as a strong advocate for clients, leveraging extensive knowledge of coverage and claim issues to negotiate with insurance carriers and/or TPAs.
- Handles client inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a positive claims experience.
- Assists clients in navigating coverage questions, providing clarity and guidance to optimize claim outcomes.
- Educates clients on the nuances of the claim process for various types of losses, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Prepares claims information for presentations, leveraging a data-driven approach to articulate key insights and recommendations.
- Resolves customer claim issues in coordination with the Director of Claims and producers, minimizing errors and reducing exposure to errors and omissions.
- Cultivates strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, safety specialists, and producers, to foster collaboration and trust.
- Leads regular claim reviews with key clients and insurance carriers/TPAs, driving continuous improvement and demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
- Tackles special projects identified by the Director of Claims with enthusiasm and creativity, leveraging a diverse skillset to drive results
Requirements of the Claims Specialist:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 4-8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrating a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.
- Preferably, possesses multi-lines and/or specialty lines experience, indicating a broad understanding of the insurance industry and its complexities.
- Ideally, has experience working for an insurance broker or agency, showcasing an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Must meet any local or state license/designation requirements, demonstrating a commitment to compliance and upholding regulatory standards.
- Exhibits strong tech-savviness and an ability to use and learn advanced technology and agency management systems, reflecting a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
- Demonstrates a high degree of competency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook and intermediate Excel, highlighting proficiency in essential office tools.
- Possesses exceptional organizational and communication skills, allowing for effective management of tasks and clear communication with stakeholders.
